Counselling FAQ

Counselling FAQ

What is the cost and how long are sessions?

One hour session is for 70 Euro.

How does Walk & Talk work?

When we meet in the park we walk beside each other for an hour and from there it is very similar to regular therapy.
What if the weather is bad ? I have a lot of rain gear with me and a good umbrella and it always works out good.

Is this different from regular therapy?

No. Only in that we will be walking instead of sitting in the office.

Is Phil an accredited psychotherapist?

Yes, I am accredited with the IACP.

Do I need to be fit?

No. This is not about fitness, this is about using walking and nature to enhance the experience of psychotherapy and we walk at the pace that suits you best.

What type of psychotherapeutic model do you work from?

I would have a very broad approach to therapy, but I believe that it is my job to help each person through their difficulties in the best way that suits them. I believe that each one of us are the only one who has the clear answers to our life situation and I help people find those answers and I will use the many different models of therapy depending what each person needs.

How long are the sessions?

1 hour

How long does it take to experience improvement in the issues I’m struggling with?

It will vary from person to person. It is a suggestion to give any type of therapy a go for six weeks and then to talk to the therapist about how the therapy is going for you.

What happens if the weather is bad?

I will have extra rain gear with me in the event of bad weather or you can bring your own. The different types of weather may have a positive effect on the work we will be doing together.

Is this better than the ordinary therapy?

We are all very different people and when it comes to dealing with our difficulties in life it is our job to find the method that suits us best. A bit like the old saying “different strokes for different folks”
